Session 1. Streams and Wetlands: Living with Livestock Near Water

Learn ways to minimize the impact of livestock living close to water, and improve habitat near streams and wetlands.


Learn how to design, construct, and implement livestock management practices with one-on-one guidance from district technicians in this free series of workshops hosted by King Conservation District.

Attend all four workshops or only those that meet your needs. Discover ways you can have less mud, better pastures, manage manure and care for streams & wetlands.

TOPICS:

  • Session 1. Streams and Wetlands - Living with Livestock Near Water. March 2. A King Conservation District native plant expert will present solutions and guidance to improve habitat.
  • Session 2. Mud Management - Record Rainfall/Record Mud. March 9. A Horses for Clean Water presenter will provide techniques to reduce mud.
  • Session 3. Manure Management - Got Livestock? Got Manure! March 16. Alayne Blickle will present the latest options on managing manure.
  • Session 4. Pasture Management - Becoming a Grass Farmer. March 23. Session will include a presenter from the King County Noxious Weed Program to help ID weeds and discuss control methods.
