Solar powered. That’s me—figuratively and now literally. I love the sun and I love being outdoors. And now Sweet Pepper Ranch is solar powered, too. We are harnessing the power of the sun and putting it to work. Last month we had solar panels installed which will generate 100% of our electrical usage averaged over a year. We hope to recoup the cost of our solar panels in 10 years or less, and they increase the value of our property as well.
My husband Matt Livengood said of them, “We wanted to use renewable energy as another step towards reducing our carbon footprint and our use of fossil fuels. It just seems like the right thing to do.”
Our location in southwest Idaho is a perfect location to harness solar power because of the high number of sunny days.
One of the initiatives of our power company, Idaho Power, is to provide 100% clean energy (hydro, wind, solar, and geo-thermal) by 2025.
