Jessica began riding horses at a young age and bought her first horse, Annie, at the age of 14. While other kids spent their teen years working at places like McDonald’s and The Gap, Jessica earned money by feeding horses and mucking out stalls. Her many years caring for and riding horses gave her a strong appreciation for the outdoors and an understanding that we all play a part in the health of our environment. Jessica met Alayne in 1996 and has been working for Horses for Clean Water ever since, writing and editing educational materials and grant proposals. Jessica has a B.A. in Environmental Economics and currently lives in Kirkland, Washington with her husband, Matt, and two dogs, Piper and Oliver.
